REALLY, THERE'LL BE NO OTHER REQUIREMENTS FOR THE COUNTY TO CONSULT WITH THE THC EXCEPT FOR THE PROVISION IN THE TEXAS GOVERNMENT CODE CHAPTER 4 4 2, WHICH REQUIRES YOU TO NOTIFY US OF ANY ACTION YOU TAKE ON THE COURTHOUSE SIX MONTHS IN ADVANCE OF THAT, TAKING THAT ACTION. RIGHT. UNFORTUNATELY, LIKE THERE ARE SOME COUNTIES, UH, TYLER COUNTY IS CONSIDERING THE DEMOLITION OF THEIR COURTHOUSE. THEY'VE NOTIFIED US, WE'VE GIVEN THEM THE SIX MONTH CLOCK, GIVES THE PEOPLE THE OPPORTUNITY TO LET THE CITIZENS KNOW THAT THIS IS GONNA HAPPEN AND THEY CAN RESPOND TO THE ACTION AND GO FORWARD. BUT OKAY. THERE'S NO WAY FOR US TO PREVENT THE DEMOLITION OF, OF THE TYLER COUNTY COURTHOUSE. OKAY. NO. SO, SO GUYS, YES SIR. YOU KNOW, WE HAVE THE SIX, YOU HAVE THE SIX FOOT MONTH TIMELINE BY STATUTE. CORRECT. IF WE HAVE ALL OF OUR PLANS IN PLACE, WILL IT BE EXPEDITED TO WORK WITH US ON THAT? NO, I MEAN, I WORK REALLY, YOU WON'T UTILIZE THE WHOLE SIX MONTHS IS WHAT I'M TALKING. HE HAS THE PLANS. YEAH. I HAVE THE 90, WHAT WE CONSIDER THE 95% CONSTRUCTION DOCUMENTS THAT, UH, WERE PRESENTED SO WE COULD APPROVE THEM FOR THE GRANT APPLICATION PROCESS. I DO HAVE A FEW COMMENTS THAT WE'D LIKE TO THE COUNTY TO CONSIDER BEFORE COMPLETING THE PROJECT. AND THESE ARE WORK ITEMS. I THINK WITHIN THE SCHEDULE, IF WE HAD THE PROJECT SCHEDULED, THEY'RE BASICALLY DEALING WITH LIKE FLOOR FINISHES, A LITTLE FURNITURE, AND THEN A COUPLE OF OFFICE LAYOUTS. THAT WON'T HAPPEN UNTIL MAYBE 12 TO 18 MONTHS INTO THE PROJECT SCHEDULE. SO I DON'T SEE WE'RE GOING TO DELAY YOU BEING ABLE TO MOBILIZE. OKAY. GET THE SITE SECURE AND START WORKING ON THE FINAL DEMOLITION. GOOD DEAL. NUMBER TWO, ARE THERE ANY CHANGES TO THE REPORTING OR DOCUMENTATION REQUIREMENTS TO THE HISTORICAL COMMISSION FOR PRESERVATION PROJECTS IF WE'RE NO LONGER RECEIVING FUNDING? AGAIN, IT'S, IT'S JUST THE NOTIFICATION SIX MONTHS IN ADVANCE IF YOU'RE GOING TO DO ANYTHING THAT MIGHT POSSIBLY, UH, ADV HAVE AN ADVERSE EFFECT ON THE HISTORICAL INTEGRITY OF THE BUILDING. I DON'T THINK WE DO. NO, I DON'T THINK SO. WHAT DOCUMENTATION OR EVIDENCE WILL BE REQUIRED TO PROVE THAT WE'RE MAINTAINING THE COURTHOUSE TO THE REQUIRED STANDARDS? THAT WAY IF SOMEBODY WANTS TO GO BACK AND SEE IF THE COUNTY'S BEEN OUT OF COMPLIANCE, THERE'LL BE A WRITTEN RECORD OF YOUR NOTIFYING US OF SOME ACTION. CORRECT. AND AGAIN, I MEAN, YOU, THERE'S ALWAYS THE OPPORTUNITY OF A FUTURE ADMINISTRATION WANTING TO GO FORWARD AND APPLY FOR GRANT FUNDING AGAIN IN AN EMERGENCY. AND SO, UM, YOU DO HAVE AN APPROVED MASTER PLAN FOR THE COURTHOUSE. SO HOPEFULLY THE DRAWINGS THAT ARE COMING FORWARD ARE MEET, YOU KNOW, THE GOALS THAT WERE ESTABLISHED BY THE PREVIOUS ADMINISTRATION FOR THE PRESERVATION OF THE COURTHOUSE, AND THEN THAT WOULD MAKE YOU ELIGIBLE FOR FUNDING IN THE FUTURE, SHOULD THERE BE A NEED FOR IT. RIGHT. RIGHT. OKAY. UH, NUMBER FOUR. HOW QUICKLY CAN WE ANTICIPATE RESPONSES TO IMMEDIATE PRESERVATION ISSUES OUR EMERGENCIES THROUGH THE HISTORICAL COMMISSION? WELL, TECHNICALLY YOU HAVE, WE HAVE 30 DAYS. WE WORK REALLY HARD TO DO, GET A REASONABLE RESPONSE WITHIN 14 DAYS. 10 TO 14 DAYS. BUT SOMETIMES OUR SUPERIORS ARE ON VACATION OR , AND SO ANYTHING THAT MIGHT HAVE TO PASS THROUGH THEIR HANDS MIGHT TAKE THAT FULL 30 DAYS. BUT I THINK WE'VE BEEN ABLE TO RESPOND PRETTY QUICKLY. IF IT'S JUST A MATTER BETWEEN THE PROJECT REVIEWER AND THE REPRESENTATIVE FROM THE COUNTY, WE CAN USUALLY HANDLE IT WITHIN A WEEK. I THINK SO. OKAY. UH, UH, HOW CAN WE STAY INFORMED ABOUT ANY CHANGES OR UPDATES TO THE PRESERVATION STANDARDS AND PRACTICES THAT MAY AFFECT OUR COURTHOUSE? WELL, WE DO HAVE A STEWARDSHIP PROGRAM AND WE, UH, HAVE SESSIONS AT THE ANNUAL CONFERENCE OF REAL PLACES WHERE COUNTIES ARE INVITED TO COME AND MEET WITH STAFF SO THAT THEY CAN BE AWARE OF THESE CHANGES. WE ALSO TRY TO DO REGIONAL STEWARDSHIP WORKSHOPS. WE, THE NEXT ONES WILL BE IN WEST TEXAS AND IN THE PANHANDLE BEFORE WE COME BACK AROUND TO NORTH TEXAS. AGAIN, WE HAVE ABOUT NINE REGIONS.
