I MEAN, WE WILL APPLY FOR THAT, BUT IT'S ANIMALS THAT ARE IN, UM, OUR OWNED OR IN THE CUSTODY OF TEXAS RESIDENTS RESCUES ORGANIZATIONS, SHELTERS OR GOVERNMENT.
SO WE CAN APPLY FOR, UH, SPAY AND NEUTER STERILIZATION FOR ANIMALS THAT ARE IN OUR SH IN OUR SHELTER.
WE CAN HELP THE RESCUES AND WE CAN HELP THE PUBLIC BECAUSE WE WILL HAVE, WE BE ABLE TO HAVE VOUCHERS.
UM, FINDING A VETERINARIAN HAS BEEN TASKED OR BEEN A HARD TASK, BUT WE'RE, WE'RE AT THAT POINT NOW.
UM, WE, WE HAD ABOUT 130 SPAYED AND NEU OUT OF OUR SHELTER LAST YEAR THAT WE PAID OUT OF OUR POCKET.
AND SO THAT WILL DEFINITELY HELP US.
SO I'M GOING TO ASK FOR OVER 300 SURGERIES AND I WOULD LOVE TO ASK FOR MORE.
BUT THE VETERINARIANS, THEY WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO DO THAT MANY.
SO IT'S A WAY FOR US TO HELP KEEP THE PUBLIC, UM, SAFE BY HAVING THESE ANIMALS SPAYED AND NEUTER CUTTING DOWN ON THAT POPULATION.
I GET A LOT OF CALLS OF PEOPLE THAT NEED HELP JUST TO GET AND NEUTER.
THEY CAN'T BE HAVING LITTERS AND PUPPIES OUT HERE.
THAT COMES BACK TO THE SHELTER, WHICH IS ANOTHER EXPENSE AND WORKS ON THE SHERIFF'S.
PEOPLE AND PICK 'EM UP ALL THE TIME.
I NOW WANT TO ADD THAT THE SPAY AND NEUTER, UM, THERE WAS A, I WAS HERE RECENTLY, I THINK WE TALKED ABOUT THE ANONYMOUS DONOR THAT DONATED A LOT OF FUNDING FOR KAUFMAN COUNTY ZIP CODES TO HAVE SP AND NEUTER.
THERE HAD BEEN OVER, UM, PROBABLY ABOUT 1500 NOW.
SO WE WERE AT 1100 A MONTH AGO.
WE HAVE GONE DOWN TO WHERE THE ZIP CODES ARE AND TO FIND OUT MAYBE WHERE WE DO NEED TO DO MORE EDUCATION IN THOSE ZIP CODES.
BUT, UM, FORNEY, FORNEY'S AHEAD OF EVERYBODY, YOU KNOW, EVEN MY LITTLE TOWN OF ROSTER, THERE WERE SEVEN, SEVEN ANIMALS THAT, THAT GOT SPAYED OR NEUTERED BECAUSE OF THIS.
