SO BASICALLY WHAT I'M DOING REALLY IS JUST KIND OF TAKING SOME MONEY.
I DON'T WANT TO GET RID OF THE TRAINING BUDGET COMPLETELY BECAUSE IN THE OFF CHANCE THAT TVC DOES NOT DO A, UH, CONFERENCE, THEN I WILL STILL HAVE TO GO OUT AND PAY FOR LIKE INDIVIDUAL, LIKE ONLINE CEUS OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT IN ORDER TO MAINTAIN OUR 12 HOURS A YEAR.
SO RIGHT NOW I'VE, I'M SHOWING IN TRAINING $950.

WE MOVED $550 ON A LINE ITEM TRANSFER OVER TO OUR, UM, MILES, MULES, AND LODGING.
UM, AND SO THAT'LL TAKE, SO RATHER THAN HAVE TO DO A LINE ITEM TRANSFER, I SPOKE WITH MS. BRANDY, I TOLD HER WHAT MY INTENTS WERE AND SHE SAID SHE THOUGHT THIS WAS A GOOD PLAN.
SO WE'RE JUST GONNA KEEP THE 500, WE'RE JUST MOVING IT.
WE'RE GONNA MOVE A THOUSAND FROM ONE TO THE OTHER.
THAT WAY THE TWO OF US CAN GO TO CONFERENCE, OR THE TWO OF US CAN GO TO TWO DIFFERENT TRAININGS.
I I'M THINKING ABOUT SENDING BELINDA THIS YEAR TO, UM, THE INITIAL TRAINERS, UH, SO THAT SHE CAN BECOME CERTIFIED.
UH, AND THAT'LL ALLOW HER TO DO THINGS THAT SHE'S NOT TECHNICALLY ALLOWED TO DO RIGHT NOW.
UH, IT WILL EXPAND HER ROLES AND ABILITIES.
UM, AND THEN, LIKE I SAID, DOWN THE ROAD, YOU KNOW, WE'VE TALKED ABOUT THIS IN PREVIOUS MEETINGS.

AND THEN HE COMES TO YOU AS PART OF THAT AFTER, AFTER HE AND I WORK TOGETHER.
HE HAS A LINE ITEM OR A LIST OF THINGS THAT WE'D HOPE TO DO FOR NEXT YEAR'S BUDGET, UH, FOR THE PARK, AND WE'LL GO FROM THERE.
SO REALLY FOR US, IT'S PRETTY SIMPLE.
I MEAN, BASICALLY A PERMANENT LINE ITEM TRANSFER.
WHAT I'VE DONE ON EVERY DEPARTMENT.
WHETHER IT BE ELECTED OFFICIAL OR NOT, OR, UH, COMP TIME IS A STRAIN ON THE COUNTY.
AND, AND YOU HAVE A CLERK HERE WHO HAS COMP TIME AND I'M NOT SURE HOW THEY ACQUIRE COMP TIME.
UH, BELINDA ACQUIRES COMP TIME WHEN WE HAVE, UH, MEMORIAL DAY, UM, VETERANS DAY, UM, UH, AND UH, REESE ACROSS AMERICA, WHEN WE HAVE OUR THREE CEREMONIES, THAT'S THE ONLY TIME THAT BELINDA ACQUIRES COMP TIME.
THOSE THREE DAYS A YEAR BECAUSE SHE'S WORKING THOSE DAYS, YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN? AND, AND WE'VE THOUGHT, I HAVE THOUGHT ABOUT GIVING HER LIKE A FRIDAY OFF, SAY BEFORE THEN, BUT THE FRIDAY OFF IS GENERALLY WHEN WE'RE WORKING OUR BUTTS OFF TRYING TO GET READY FOR THAT THING.
SO, WELL IF YOU CAN MANAGE IT, GIVE HER A DAY OFF HERE OR THERE MM-HMM
BUT IT'S, NOTHING'S REALLY HAPPENING, UH, TO KEEP THAT DOWN.

SO THERE'S LIKE A BIG NETWORK OF THAT AND THAT'S JUST AN ANNUAL INCREASE FOR THEM THAT THEY'VE DONE, UM, SINCE, UM, SO FOR THIS YEAR.
AND THEN THEY'LL HAVE ANOTHER SMALL INCREASE FOR NEXT YEAR.

IT KINDA STAYS IN OUR BUDGET TOO, BECAUSE IT HELPS THAT MAINTENANCE OF EFFORT THAT THE STATE REQUIRES.

MOST OF THAT IS PRIMARILY DUE WITH, UH, FUEL COSTS, MAINTENANCE COSTS AND THINGS LIKE THAT WHERE WE'RE HAVING TO RUN MORE, UH, GO MORE OUT TO DIFFERENT INSPECTIONS AND THINGS LIKE THAT.
IS, IS TY IS FOR THE PRIMARY PART OF WHERE WE'RE SEEING THAT INCREASE AS IT COMES THROUGH.
UM, A COUPLE OF THINGS THAT WE LOOKED AT THERE IS, UH, THE TCFP, WHICH IS TEXAS COMMISSION ON FIRE PROTECTION, HAS PUT OUT SOME NEW REGULATIONS AS FAR AS SAFETY EQUIPMENT, UM, AND PROTECTIVE GEAR AS FAR AS HOW MUCH THAT COULD BE USED BEFORE IT'S GOTTA BE CLEANED IN ORDER TO GO BACK INTO A DIFFERENT ENVIRONMENT.
UM, SO PART OF OUR INCREASE OF THAT 8% IS EXPANDING THAT GEAR SO THAT WAY ONCE IT CAN BE CLEANED, UM, WHILE THE OTHER GEAR COULD BE USED, UH, AT THE TIME THAT WE GO INTO FIRES FOR INVESTIGATIONS, UM, AS WELL AS SOME OF THE CLEANING REQUIREMENTS NOW THAT THEY'RE MANDATING THAT HAVE TO

THE BIGGER PART OF WHAT WE'RE ASKING IN THAT IS BECAUSE OF SOME OF THOSE REQUIREMENTS IS WITH OUR CURRENT PROCESS, I'M ASKING FOR UNDER OUR PROFESSIONAL, UM, SERVICES PART A, AN ADDITIONAL 12% INCREASE OF $30,000.
SO WHERE WE CAN LOOK AT TO SOME SORT OF EITHER WAREHOUSE OR OR MANAGEMENT, SOMETHING TO WHERE WE HAVE A LOT OF OUTSIDE STORAGE, WE HAVE A LOT OF CLEANING ISSUES AND I KNOW WE'RE MOVING TO A DIFFERENT FACILITY THERE.
ONE OF THE CONCERNS IS WHERE DO WE CLEAN OUR EQUIPMENT? 'CAUSE OUR TOOLS HAVE TO BE CLEANED A AFTER EACH FIRE THAT WE GO INTO TO, TO CUT DOWN ON THAT.
WHERE ARE YOU DOING THAT NOW? UH, THEY'RE AT OUR OFFICE.
WE HAVE ACTUALLY FROM THE, THE DRAIN SYSTEM ACTUALLY THERE IS REALLY NICE AND WORKS GOOD THAT FROM THE WAY THE RUNOFFS IN THERE, THE SIZE OF IT IS, THERE'S AN ACTUAL FILTER THAT I COULD PUT IN THERE TO COLLECT ANYTHING INTO THAT PROCESS.
BUT WE'RE ABLE TO HAVE A WATER HOSE THERE, CLEAN EVERYTHING AND WE CAN KEEP IT AWAY FROM, FROM WHERE WE'RE AT IN THAT PARKING LOT, UH, OR THAT BUILDING, WE'RE AWAY FROM EVERYBODY ELSE.
SO WHILE WE'RE DOING THAT PROCESS, WE DON'T HAVE ANY ISSUES WITH PUBLIC WALKING UP OR OTHER EMPLOYEE COUNTY EMPLOYEES COMING UP.
SO WHILE WE CLEAN THAT, IN ORDER TO MAKE THAT SAFE, ONE THING YOU MIGHT LOOK AT IS THIS BUILDING DOWN HERE, THE DRIVE THROUGH BUILDING.
WELL, SO IF THERE'S A DRAIN IN THERE OR NOT, THAT WOULD SUFFICE.
I I, WE WORKED WITH FACILITIES ON THAT AND AS FAR AS HOW THAT, AND I'VE GOT DIFFERENT THINGS AS FAR AS HOW THEY WERE, THEY WERE GONNA MAKE CHANGES TO IT.
THEY WERE NOT, WEREN'T GONNA MAKE CHANGES TO IT OF HOW THAT GOES.
AND ALL THAT WAS STILL KIND OF UP IN THE AIR TO THE BEST OF MY KNOWLEDGE TO WHERE THEY DIDN'T KNOW WHAT WOULD BE AVAILABLE.
BUT IT'S NOT BIG ENOUGH FOR AN OFFICE.

CAN YOU, UH, WORK WITH KAMAN FIRE DEPARTMENTS SUCH AS RIGHT HERE IN TOWN? WELL, WE CURRENTLY ARE RIGHT NOW, I DON'T KNOW THAT THEY DON'T HAVE THEIR SPECIFIC, A LOT OF THE FIRE DEPARTMENTS DON'T HAVE THEIR SPECIFICS OF HOW THEY'RE MAKING THOSE CHANGES.
THOSE RULES ARE JUST COMING OUT OKAY.
AS FAR AS HOW THEY WANT THOSE PROCESSED.

AND WHAT THEY, THE PURPOSE OF THAT WAS THAT, UH, WHEN THEY WERE DOING THAT WAS TO ALLOW A BUDGET YEAR TO COME INTO PLACE AFTER THEY PASSED IT TO ALL THE CHANGES THAT NEED TO COME UP.
SO, UM, THAT'S HONESTLY WHAT THAT SPECIFIC LINE ITEM OF WHAT WE WERE LOOKING AT DOING IS TRYING TO STAY AHEAD OF THE CURVE TO WHERE WE'RE NOT GONNA GET CAUGHT UP IN TO THE FALL.

IF, OF LONG NECESSARILY BECAUSE, UM, THERE'S, THERE'S, THERE'S A LOT OF BIG SERIOUS CHANGES THAT COME IN THERE.

UM, BUT SINCE WE ARE PAID THEN AS FULL-TIME EMPLOYEES, WE HAVE TO FOLLOW THAT GUIDELINE AS WELL.
SO SOME OF THE OTHER FIRE DEPARTMENTS DON'T HAVE TO MEET THAT STANDARD AS OF YET.
UM, THE FIRE COMMISSION MADE THAT CLEAR, VERY CLEAR THAT THEY WILL BECOME COMPLIANT WITH THAT.
IT'S JUST NOT AT THIS PARTICULAR MOMENT IN PHASE IN THERE.
SO AGAIN, PART OF MY STUFF WITH THAT IS THAT YES, WE ARE CURRENTLY STILL LOOKING AT TRYING TO COME UP WITH AN OUTCOME.
