MY UNDERSTANDING OF THE SPECIAL AFFAIR WAS THAT, UH, IT WOULD NOT REQUIRE ANY ADDITIONAL COUNTY FUNDS. THE, THE ONLY THING IN OUR BUDGET IS ON PAGE 19 OF THE GENERAL FUND, WHERE WE BUDGETED 522,900 LAST YEAR AND 515,000 THIS YEAR, SHE CUT 10% OF EVERYTHING WITH SALARIES AND, UH, PLACEMENT COSTS BECAUSE SHE HAD, SHE COULDN'T, COULDN'T REDUCE THOSE. SO HER 10% CUT WAS NOT 10%. IN TOTAL IT WAS 10% OTHER THAN SALARIES, WHICH REMAINED THE SAME AND THE PLACEMENT COSTS, WHICH REMAINED THE SAME. AND WE'RE PRETTY SURE THEN THAT THIS NEW EMPLOYEE THAT SHE WANTS TO HIRE IS NOT BEING PAID OUTTA COUNTY FUNDS. I'M REAL SURE IT'S NOT INCLUDED IN HER BUDGET. UM, AND I HAD THAT DISCUSSION WITH HER THAT, THAT IT WOULD NOT REQUIRE ADDITIONAL, BUT I DON'T KNOW THAT TO BE MEAN. THERE MAY HAVE BEEN A MISUNDERSTANDING. I CAN'T, I CAN'T SPEAK FOR HER UNDERSTANDING. WELL, THERE'S NO MONEY IN THE BUDGET. THERE CAN'T BE A PERSON THERE. NOT UNLESS STATE PAY. THE STATE PAYS A LARGE PORTION OF HER BUDGET. NOW, JERRY, YOU, UH, JUDGE, I, I DON'T REMEMBER EXACTLY WHAT HAPPENED ON THIS, BUT ON UH, CONSTABLE IN PRECINCT ONE, UH, WE CUT HIS GAS AND OIL IN HALF AND HE DIDN'T THINK THAT, I DON'T SEE, HE DIDN'T THINK THAT WE WERE CUT IT THAT MUCH UNTIL HE LOOKED AT IT LAST WEEK.
